Why Agri.Cycle are Educating the Next Generation of Farmers

At Agri.Cycle, we take pride in fostering a culture of recycling and sustainability among the next generation of farmers. By hosting numerous educational visits throughout the year, we not only share our mission but also gain valuable insights from the fresh perspectives of the groups we welcome.

Over the past few months, we have had the pleasure of hosting visits from Riseholme College, Harmston Young Farmers Club (YFC), and Tuxton YFC. These visits provide an in-depth look at our operations and offer a firsthand experience of our recycling processes.

Each visit includes a comprehensive tour of our head office site, led by our director, Robert Moore. Robert, who is also one of the founding directors of the Green Tractor Scheme, passionately explains the intricate processes involved in recycling agricultural plastics and what happens to the extruded materials. His enthusiasm and expertise not only educate but also inspire the visitors, highlighting the importance of sustainable practices in agriculture.

The educational visits to Agri.Cycle serve a dual purpose: they educate the younger generation about the importance of recycling in agriculture, and they help raise awareness about our mission to a broader audience. We believe that by engaging with students and young farmers, we are planting the seeds for a more sustainable future in the agricultural sector.

Educating young farmers

The Impact of Education on Sustainability

Education plays a crucial role in shaping the future of any industry, and agriculture is no exception. By educating the next generation of farmers, we are ensuring that sustainable practices become the norm rather than the exception. The students and young farmers who visit Agri.Cycle are not only learning about recycling but are also being equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to implement these practices in their own farms and communities.

A Collaborative Effort for a Greener Future

The Green Tractor Scheme, of which Robert Moore is a founding director, is a testament to the collaborative efforts required to drive change in the agricultural sector. This initiative promotes the recycling of agricultural plastic waste and supports farmers in adopting more sustainable practices. The visits to Agri.Cycle are a vital component of this initiative, as they provide a practical, real-world context to the principles of the Green Tractor Scheme and Agri.Cycle.

Looking Ahead

As we look to the future, we are excited to continue our educational visits and to welcome more groups to Agri.Cycle. Each visit is an opportunity to inspire and educate the next generation of farmers, and we are committed to making a positive impact on the agricultural community.

At Agri.Cycle, we believe that education is the key to a sustainable future. By sharing our knowledge and passion for recycling, we hope to empower young farmers to make a difference in their communities and to contribute to a greener, more sustainable world.
