Robert Moore, Managing Director, Agri.Cycle Limited
Our founding members took a stand in 2020 after working within the agricultural waste management industry for years. The need for education to promote sustainability, recycling and awareness within the farming community prompted the establishment of the Green Tractor Scheme.
With the ambition to make all agricultural plastic waste recyclable by 2030, the founders set out with the knowledge of the solution to the problem being in: education surrounding separation and presentation of waste for the farmers, collaborating with and enabling recyclers to be more efficient and effective and lobbying government to force producers to remove unnecessary plastics from the supply chain.
The Green Tractor Scheme is actively setting the standard and recruiting every agricultural business to be responsible and accountable for their own part to play in changing the environment and the industry for the better. The scheme has already recycled thousands of tonnes of plastic and is proud that thousands of farmers are using Green Tractor collectors, but we do not want to stop there. Our ambition is for all farm plastic to be recycled and we are on our way to achieving just that!
Setting the standard for recycling and waste processing throughout the UK agricultural industry, we’re very proud to be accountable for the creation and maintenance of this UK-wide, environmentally forward-thinking scheme.
Yes, the cost to recycle your farm plastic varies from product to product. To learn more, please get a quote.
If you purchase (or deposit for Dumpy & Midi) Agri.Cycle bags, these are replaced on a like for like basis.
Ideally, the farm owner or manager would be there when disposing of waste as they are legally responsible for the correct disposal of their farm waste. For loading purposes, it is necessary to have someone there to assist the driver loading the material.
If there is not a franchise near you, please contact Agri.Cycle head office who will be able to offer you an alternative arrangement. This could be that you are placed on a milk round service, directed to a nearby intake day, or we will come and collect your material directly!
Yes, we are proud to be a founding member of The Green Tractor Scheme. This means that farm plastic recycled with Agri.Cycle has The Green Tractor seal of approval that retailers and other agri-businesses are increasingly looking for from farmers.
Always get in touch with the head office if you have any other questions. Our friendly office team are always on hand to answer any recycling queries you may have.
